This is just a short update to say I’m still alive and haven’t been abducted by aliens, eaten by zombies, or kidnapped by pirates. Just been extremely busy, and although that sounds like a lame excuse, it’s actually true. My studies are coming to a close, and work starts very soon, and Christmas is upon us, and it’s been a mad, hectic rush over the last few weeks. So, I do apologise for my blog-neglect (that’s what I’m calling it now as I’m quite sure it will happen again at some point).

Some small news tidbits:

My MacBook arrived earlier this week. It’s a nice speed bump from the old PowerBook, and a fair bit lighter and much more compact. Also feels a lot more durable, so I’m more confident carrying it around with me everyday. In Australia, the black model costs $300 more than the white model. I was considering the black model for a while, but decided that $300 is definitely not worth it just for a different colour and surface treatment (that I didn’t find to be superior anyway). So I did the smart thing and bought the white model with a 250GB hard drive for the same price as the standard black model with 160GB hard drive. See! Smart! :D

So now I’m running Leopard on the MacBook, and hope to upgrade my iMac to Leopard as soon as I purchase an external hard drive for backups. Leopard is nice, but there’s still a few nasty bugs roaming about. Hopefully Apple will squish those very soon.

I also bought some new earphones recently, to replace my broken Sennheisers. They’re the Audio Technica AD-700, which I will review in a near-future update. To put it in a word, they’re “$?#!%@! awesome!” … Alright, two words (sort of).
